Morson Women’s Institute moves annual fish fry to July 4th

Rosemary Laevens
Morson W.I.

It was decided at the May 20, 2004, meeting of the Morson WI to sponsor a fish fry at the Morson Hall on Sunday, July 4th. There has been a fish fry in the Morson hall on the Sunday during the August long weekend in previous years. This year, the Rainy River Centennial Celebration will be held that weekend.
Along with the fish fry, there will be a penny table, and a white elephant table. Anyone wishing to sell crafts may set up a stand outside in the yard. A craft sale sponsored by the WI will not take place. Fish will be fried under the WI tent, and food service will be in the hall. No worries about rain!
Laurie Pentney is in charge of the fish fry and Kristine Carpenter in charge of the penny table. Mary Sanderson and Vivian Locking will look after the white elephant table Morson WI, along with McIrvine WI are hosting the Area Convention at the Bergland Hall, September 20th and 21st. The FWIO President will attend.
A trip to Raye, MInnesota to view quilt patterns at a quilt shop, as well as visiting the quilt shop in Fort Frances was discussed as an outing for the fall.
Barb Atkinson has offered to head the committee in charge of providing a meal on Friday night,

under the big tent, during the Rainy River Centennial Celebration. Various menus were debated. At the June meeting, plans for this meal will be finalized.
The next Morson WI meeting will be held Thursday, June 17th, 12:30 p.m. at Buena Vista Resort, hosted by Kristine Carpenter and JoAnn Moen.
