Sturgeon Creek school wins junior track meet

With the Olympics only weeks away, it seemed only fitting that athletes from across the district converged on Riverview School last week to compete in two track and field meets.
Tuesday the grade 4-6 (Junior) meet saw nine schools compete in seven events earning points for top finishes. At the end of the day it was Sturgeon Creek School in Barwick that came out on top with 151 pts. Riverview was second with 118. Crossroads School in Devlin came in third with 102 pts. Sturgeon Creek Alternative Program finished fourth with 76 pts. Donald Young School came in fifth with 65 pts. In sixth McCrosson-Tovell in Bergland earned 39 pts. Rounding out the pack was Our Lady of the Way with 33, Big Island and Big Grassy both with 16 pts.
