June Fay Lowes, 63

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of June Lowes on August 24th, 2010.
June was born in Emo, Ontario on June 1st 1947 to Woodrow and Ruth Anderson. She spent her childhood years on the family farm in Stratton.
After her mothers early death she moved to Pinewood with three of her siblings to live with their sister Wanda and brother-in-law Romeo Jodoin and family. The Brady Bunch had nothing on this expanded family. At eighteen she married Dale and started their family in Rainy River.
June’s life was busy with maintaining a home and raising four children. June was instrumental in the building of Beef Hut Restaurant where she was owner manager. She was an active member of the Lions Club and chairperson for the student exchange program for local kids exchanging homes with students from other countries. She was a committed Cub Scout Leader. June also managed to find time to enjoy her passion for creating beautiful paintings. Her love for travel brought her to many places in the world, but by far, her heart was at the cabin with her family. She will always be remembered by her children as being a great mom. From the many pictures she drew for them, the numerous Halloween costumes she sewed for them, and for always opening her home and heart for their many friends throughout the years. She was a kind and generous person. We will truly remember June for the pride she took in looking her very best each and everyday. June will be sadly missed but never forgotten. We love you.
June will be remembered by her four sons Chris, Brad, Darren, Mike and their families; husband Dale; grandchildren Aaron, Erikka, Emily, Dylan, Evan, Ashton, Carter and Meghan; her sisters Wanda, Sharon, Colleen, Gail and twin sister Judy and their families. June was predeceased by her parents and brother Lyle.
A memorial service was held on Saturday August 28, 2010 from St. James Anglican Church, Rainy River, Ontario at 11 a.m. with Rev. Merna Major officiating.
Interment took place in Barwick Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were the grandchildren of June and Dale.
Flowers are graciously declined and should you wish to memorialize June, donations to the Heart and Stroke Association are welcome.
