Many new books for all ages at RR Public Library

By Michael Dawber
Assistant Librarian

Got homework?
The Rainy River Public Library has the resources families need for life-long learning!
Thanks to a one-time grant from the province, the library has been able to purchase hundreds of new non-fiction books.
Our children’s section now has the latest titles on a whole range of subjects.
See our new books on astronomy, nature, climate change, and ancient civilizations, just to name a few.
The library is especially pleased to have new children’s books by, and about, First Nations People.
The library has bought all available titles from the “First Nation Communities Read” program. This program is sponsored each year by the Southern Ontario Library Service.
Our collection now includes the winning 2010 title from First Nation Communities Read, Long Powwow Nights by David Bouchard.
Students and parents can also dial into the huge on-line service called Knowledge Ontario.
Go to eresources.knowledgeontario.ca and see the millions of free articles on every subject under the sun.
When the homework’s done, check out our new selection of DVDs.
New family movies at the library include Alice in Wonderland, Where the Wild Things Are, and season one of the television series Heartland.
Moms and dads, we have new bestsellers on the shelf for you, too.
Try the 9th Judgement by James Patterson, Bone Crossed by Patricia Briggs, The Capitol Game by Brian Haig, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest by Stieg Larson.
We look forward to seeing you again soon!
