JoAnn Moen gets fourth council seat for LoW

By Ken Johnston

After ending up in a tie for the fourth council seat of Lake of the Woods Township, two incumbents learned who would get the seat last week.
JoAnn Moen and Nancy Gate, both hoping to return to council for another term, had 178 votes. After a recount last week they were still tied at 178.
It was then left up to a draw from a hat to see who would fill the seat. In the end it was Moen.
Moen joins fellow incumbent Colleen Fadden and new comers Glenn Anderson and Bill Lundgren on council. Incumbent Mayor Valerie Pizey also returned to office.
New councils across the province will be sworn into office in December.
