The Libary Corner: Free computer lessons available

By Michael Dawber
Assistant Librarian

Free computer lessons are back at the Rainy River Public Library!
Thanks to a grant from Industry Canada’s Community Access Program (CAP), the library will offer computer lessons until the end of March.
Our computer trainer, Jonathan, will be available Tuesday through Friday starting at 4:00 p.m.
Jonathan will also have lessons on Saturday. Times are 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Lessons are 30 minutes of one-on-one training. You must book your lesson ahead of time.
To book, please call the library at 807.852.3375 or email libraryrr@gmail.com.
Don’t forget, the library also has pre-school storytime on Saturdays. Assistant Librarian Michael Dawber is reading his way around the world. We also have great crafts to make and games to play.
We’ve already visited Antarctica and Australia. Now we’re Africa bound!
Storytime is free for caregivers and children up to age six.
The program runs each Saturday at 11:00 a.m. until November 27.
The library is also excited to bring you Playways.
What’s a Playaway? It’s a talking book recorded on its own player.
It’s just like a personal MP3 player. All you need are headphones and one AAA battery.
We’ve just received 15 Playaways, including The Devil’s Feather by
Minette Walters, For One More Day by Mitch Alboim and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.
Many more titles will arrive in the New Year.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
