Gwen L Nordin

Gwen L Nordin (nee Langstaff). Mom was born in Rainy River, Ontario March 1, 1933 where she grew up with her sisters Ruth, Gertie, Jean, Maxine, Fern and her brothers Jack, Reggie and Stanley. She went to be with God Nov,16 2010. She was united in marriage to Larry Nordin August 7, 1954. Together they raised their five children, Vicki (Greg) Kim, Jody (Larry) Sheila (Cam) and Marty, in the little hamlet of Bergland. Mom was happiest when all of us were home. She loved going to bingo with Jody and made sure Jody didn't forget to pick her up. She also loved to spend time with her daughters in their homes. She was so proud of all her grandchildren. She was known to her Great Grandchildren as Gramma Turtle. We want to express our thanks to the wonderful nurses who took care of Mom, and also to Dr. Singleton, Dr.Bellar and Dr. Avery for your compassion towards Mom. We also want to thank Marylou Peterson and Tyler for helping Mom accomplish her biggest achievement. Debbie, Mom thought of you as one of us, and we want to thank you for all you did for Mom. It is greatly appreciated. We also wish to thank everyone for the kind words and support through this difficult time. We will see you later Mom, We love you.
Funeral mass was held on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Rainy River, Ont, with Fr. Alan Albao officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Honourary pallbearers were Gwen’s grandchildren.
