The Library Corner: Check out all our new best sellers

By Michael Dawber
Assistant Librarian

If you have not visited us since before the holidays, the big guy in the red suit was very generous to the library this season.
Our new arrivals section is packed with the latest fiction.
Check out Full Dark, No Stars by Stephen King, Iron River by T. Jefferson Parker, Port Mortuary by Patricia Cornwell, and Crescent Dawn by Clive Cussler.
Local birders will enjoy Hope is the Thing With Feathers by Christopher Cokinos. Or, browse through our new, 15-year set of the annual Christmas Bird Counts.
Young readers will like Bink and Gollie by Kate DiCamillo, the Dork Diaries by Rachel Renee Russell and the new biography of Justin Bieber.
For teens and tweens, we have all five instalments of the Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull.
As 2011 gets underway, the staff and board of the library would like to thank the community for their generous support in 2010.
The library checked out more than 9,100 items in 2010. This includes 4,700 novels and 1,200 DVDs.
More than 250 audiobooks and ebooks were downloaded from our on-line Overdrive service.
And did you know the library added more than 2,480 new items in 2010?
That’s almost one out of every five books, magazines and movies in the whole library.
We look forward to seeing you again soon!
