Boiled water advisory lifted for Rainy River

The boiled water advisory has been lifted for the town of Rainy River as of Friday, Feb. 18, 2011.
It was imposed last Wednesday evening when water services were restored to the town. A major water main break early Wednesday morning saw the entire town's water system shut down.
Crews worked on it all day and once it was repaired Wednesday evening, a boiled water advisory was issued until two consecutive test samples of the water came back.
On Monday one set had come back with good results. As of this morning (Friday) the second set came back with the same results. The water is now safe to drink again and does not need to be boiled before doing so.
