The Rainy River Fire Department and Ambulance Service were called to the CN Hotel at about 11 p.m. Sunday night to deal with an apparent Carbon-monoxide poisoning.
The Fire Department said that the furnace room is located right below the hotel’s lounge and that because it is not a forced air system the Carbon-monoxide accumulated in the basement and eventually seeped into the lounge.
Christie Dufresne and Bonnie Gustafson were airlifted by ambulance from Rainy River. There was no word on their condition at press time.
