Schedule of events promises something for everyone at 3rd Annual RR Walleye Tourney

The schedule of events for the 3rd Annual Rainy River and District Chamber of Commerce Live Release Walleye Tournament is shaping up with something for everyone!
The event runs from September 21-23, 2001 and starts with something everyone loves; a parade!
The Boat Parade will start at 4 p.m. on 6th St. and run down Main Street to the park area. Then the contestants will be introduced and a hearty Pork Roast Dinner will be served to the anglers and public alike.
An official rules meeting will be held at 7 p.m. and is mandatory for all
the anglers.
A Dance will be held under the big tent at 9 p.m. to the rockin tunes of Mike Kookin Matthew.
Saturday the fishing begins with the boats departing at 8 a.m.
At 10 a.m. Pathways to Fishing will teach youngsters some of the ins and outs of fishing and habitats.
At 11 a.m. kids games will be run by the RR Toy Library. A penny table will also take place at that time.
At Noon there will be a Kids Mini Tournament for ages 8-16. Call Lisa at 852-3886 to register.
At 1 p.m. a Walkman Singing Contest will be held.
At 4 p.m. the most exciting part of the day arrives... Day 1 Weigh ins under the big tent.
At 5 p.m. there will be a fish fry at the tent.
At 6:30 p.m. the RR Fire Department will hold their annual Kenducky Derby on the Rainy River! Winner takes home $1,000!
7 p.m. there is going to be Karoake in the tent.
9 p.m. the headliner entertainment for the weekend, The Poor Boys, takes center stage in the tent.
Sunday things get silly around lunch time while the anglers are out on the river trying to round up some big fish. The Silly Boat Parade and Race will be held at 12:30 p.m.
The penny table draws will take place at 1 p.m.
At 3 p.m. the crowning of a new champ will begin as the boats arrive for the final weigh-ins. Awards presentations to follow and the weekend will wrap up with a Legion Steak Fry!
