Gavels travel to Swan River to race their sleds

The Gavel Snowmobile Racing Team of Stratton travelled to Swan River, Manitoba over the weekend to compete.
Danny Gavel, still on the injury list from Kenora, finished 3rd in the Sport Fan and 7th in the Sport 600. His mom said, “And for the first time (this season) he did not make the finals for the Sport 440, Sport Open.”
His brother Robbie took first in the Sport Fan, 3rd in the Sport 440 and 3rd in the Sport 600. He did not make the final in the Sport Open class.
Dad, John Gavel, took 2nd in the Master, 4th in the Plus 30 and 5th in the Plus 30 Open classes.
Team mechanic John Fuhrer competed in a Mechanics race and came first in the heats and 4th in the finals.
The team has two Northwestern Racing Association races left this season and if there is still snow left this weekend they will be travelling to Cloquet, MN. to compete in a Minnesota North Race.
