Tis the season of expanding waistlines
Ken’s
Korner
It is no wonder that so many of the commercials on television since Christmas have been for weight loss or exercise products.
I myself ate three turkey dinners in less than 24 hours Christmas Eve and Day.
That coupled with the fact that everywhere I seemed to go there was a snack tray waiting for me... it is a wonder I do not weigh 300 lbs. by now.
The holidays are a great time of year, but the eating that goes on... man it is unbelievable!
I know people that have been baking cookies and other sweets for more than a month prior all to be consumed in about a one week period.
The big meals happen at least twice in a week
(Christmas and New Years) for most of us and then there are the extra ones, like the two extra I had, that come along.
Seems like everyone I know is talking about going on a diet January 1st or 2nd. But that is the talk every year.
How many of them will stick to their diets? Probably not many.
I myself find it harder and harder to lose the weight each year. Last year it took getting really sick to lose the 20 lbs. I gained over the holidays. Hopefully I do not have to do that again this year.
–Until then,
Ken
