Henry Philip Jarvis, 88
November 8, 1915 - November 23, 2003
It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Henry (Bud) Philip Jarvis on November 23, 2003 at the Rainy River Health Centre in Rainy River, Ontario.
He is survived by and will be sadly missed by his loving wife of sixty-six years, Helen (Lindberg); sons, Philip (Marlene), Donald (Marlene), Clifford, Henry T. (Linda), Jim (Dawn), daughters, Dorothy (Dave) Marquis, Rachel (Don) Marquis; grandchildren, Guy, Marc, Jill, Marielle, Colleen, Karen, Donald, Margaret, Edward, Paul, Christopher, Kevin, Kathleen, James, Jason, Georgia, Peter, Carolee, Marty, Natalie, Louis, Jennifer; many great grandchildren nephews and nieces, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Alice (Belle), brothers Clifford and Clyde (Lorna); son Delmar; grandson Timothy, and nephew Shane.
Henry was born on November 8, 1915 in Virginia, Minnesota and moved to the Rainy River area as a young child. He was united in marriage to Helen Lindberg on March 31, 1937. In his early years he worked alongside his father and brothers in the bush, and later was self-employed on his dairy farm. He hired on the Canadian National Railway in the late 1930’s, where he was employed until retirement in 1976. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Florentine #9556, and Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. he served as a director of the Rainy River Community Credit Union for numerous years. He had a passion for his grandchildren, hunting, farming, and hockey (the Montreal Canadiens). Henry will be most remembered for his never-ending devotion and care to the love of his life, Helen.
Prayers were held Wednesday, November 26 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Rainy River, Ontario. Funeral Service was held on Thursday, November 27 at 2:00 p.m at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Rainy River. The pallbearers were Guy, Marc, James, Jason, Andrew, and Marty Jarvis, Louis Marquis, and Troy Kreger. Honourary pallbearers were the members of the Knights of Columbus.
