Hansen has strong showing at All Ontarios

Rainy River High School’s Courtney Hansen played some great games two weeks ago at the All Ontario Badminton Championship tournament.
She dominated in her first match, but fell in the second, losing to Adrienne Goldsworthy, seeded #2 in the tournament. She had a strong performance again in the third match, winning the first game against Carol de la Cerna 22-20. The next two games against de la Cerna were well played and very close, but saw Courtney down 15-21 and 17-21. De la Cerna later went on to win Antique Bronze in the ‘B’ flight. It was great experience once again and we can certainly be proud of how Courtney represented our school and community in such tough competition.
Last year Hansen won a gold medal in the ‘C’ flight.
Hansen went undefeated (5-0) at NORWOSSAs.
Hansen then went 4-0 to win senior girls gold in singles at NWOSSAs and advance to the All Ontarios for the second year in a row.
