Track teams kick some butt at local conference meet

Lake of the Woods track teams leapt out ahead of the competition in a conference meet at home last week.
The Varsity Girls finished first with 279 points, ahead of Walker who had 245 pts, Northome (129 pts.), Bagley (118), Nevis (62), Clearbrook (33) and Cass Lake (14).
The Varsity Boys finished second with 218 pts. just behind Northome who had 238 pts.
Both the Jr. Varsity Girls and Boys finished third with 50 pts. and 47 pts. respectively.
The Varsity Girls finished as follows:
4X800m relay: 2nd with a time of 11:11.9 minutes.
100m hurdles: Amy Hasbargen came in 1st with a time of 19.89 seconds.
100m dash: Molly Fisher came in 3rd with a time of 14.6 s.
4X200m relay: 1st with a time of 1:55.32 m.
1600m run: Shantelle Davidson, Sam Reinert and Sheila Johnson came in in 2nd, 3rd and 4th with times of 5:51.34, 6:15.14 and 6:21.55 m.
4X100m relay: 2nd with a time of 55.04 s.
400m dash: Carlie Waibel came in 2nd with a time of 1:09.86 m.
300 m hurdles: Reina Hoscheid and Amy Hasbargen came in 2nd and 3rd respectively with times of 51.7 and 58.47 s.
High jump: Maddie Heinrich, Sheila Johnson and Carlie Waibel came in 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively with a heights of 4’8”, 4’4” and 4’2”.
4X400 relay: 2nd with a time of 4:42.36 m.
Long jump: Athena Pirkl came in 1st with a jump of 14’4.25”.
800m run: Madie Heinrich came in 4th with a time of 2:51.73 m.
3200m run: Sheila Johnson came in 2nd with a time of 14:10.3 m.
Triple-jump: Athena Pirkl and Brittany Jasper came in 1st and 4th respectively with jumps of 32’ and 30’.5”.
Boys Varsity team finished as follows:
110m hurdles: Brent Hasbargen, Mike Hull and Andy Miller finished 1st, 3rd and 4th with times of 18.62, 18.75 and 20.23 s.
4X200m relay: 1st with a time of 1:39.59 m.
1600m run: Matt Neilson and Jay Neilson came in 2nd and 5th with times of 4:58.96 and 5:32.26 m.
4X100m relay: 2nd with at time of 49.44 s.
300m hurdles: Mike Hull and Andy Miller finished 2nd and 4th respectively with times of 46.39 and 50.47 s.
Discus: Cory Speaker came in 5th with a distance of 94’8”.
4X800m relay: 3rd with a time of 9:44.89 m.
100m dash: Nick Trujillo came in 5th with a time of 12.54 s.
Shot-put: Cory Speaker came in 3rd with a distance of 33’8”.
3200m run: Chris Heinrich came in 2nd with a time of 13:31.69 m.
200m dash: Todd Perala came in 3rd with a time of 25.82 s.
400m dash: Cooper Mickelson came in 2nd with at time of 54.08 s.
Triple jump: Mike Hull came in 2nd with a 38’3” jump.
Pole vault: Brent Hasbargen, Tyler Bredeson and Cale Shumaker came in 2nd, 3rd and 5th with jumps of 10’6”, 10’ and 7’.
Jr. Varsity Girls finished as follows:
100m hurdles: Chelsea Poolman came in 5th with a time of 22.77 s.
4X200m relay: 1st with a time of 2:09.69 m.
100m dash: Meghan Jasper came in 2nd with at time of 14.99 s.
800m run: Chelsea Poolman came in 1st with a time of 2:53.47 m.
200m dash: Meghan Jasper and Ashley Payne came in 1st and 2nd with times of 32.36 and 32.41 s.
Jr. Varsity Boys finished as follows:
Pole vault: Dylan Davis and Fred Schultz came in 1st and 2nd with heights of 7’6” and 7’.
100m dash: Allen Zimney finished 5th with a time of 13.65 s.
Shot-put: Jeremiah Speaker came in 3rd with a distance of 30’.
800m run: Joe Cooper came in 3rd with a time of 2:33.76 m.
200 m dash: Allen Zimney came in 4th with a time of 27.94 s.
4X400m relay: 2nd with a time of 4:31.7 m.
This Thursday sub-sections will be held in Baudette at the school. All are welcome to come and watch.
