Riverside to hold its annual meeting in RR Thursday

The days of politically charged meetings that saw people attend by the bus load may be just a memory, but the annual meetings of Riverside Health Care Facilities still take place and this Thursday Rainy River will play host.
Not so many years ago when hospital closures and new hospital construction were big issues of concern, membership drives were held and members were herded to the meetings. But now that those issues have passed the meetings have become small. This Thursday Riverside will meet at the Rainy River Activity Depot (west end of the old CNR station) at 7 p.m.
Topping the agenda will be the elections of new board members. In Rainy River, Pat Giles will be leaving the board after completing nine years on the board. Another Rainy River Board member is Brigitta McGreevy. She has completed six years on the board, and has sought reelection. Seeking to get on the board this year from Rainy River is retired hospital administrator Norma Elliott and retired pharmacist Robert Stamler.
From Emo Ted Kaemingh will not seek reelection after serving one term. Both Jeanne Jewell and Wendy Judson have completed one term (three years) and are seeking reelection.
Since there enough vacancies for all seeking office there will be no elections this year. All have been acclaimed to their seats.
There will be reports presented to the board by the three hospital auxiliaries, the Riverside Foundation, the Chief of Staff, the auditor and the CEO of the corporation.
The public is welcome to attend the meeting.
