Ruth Lee

The Ladyslipper Quilters Quilt Guild met on Monday evening, July 12, at the Brink Center in Baudette.
A decision was made to hold the quilt show every two years so there will be a show in 2005. No date was set. Officers were elected with Judy Humeniuk as president and Audrey Olson as secretary. Other officers are Brenda Nelson, vice president and Janet Schroeder, treasurer.
Lou Achen and Sandy Johnson volunteered to sew the baby quilt to be given to the 2005 New Year’s baby.
Monthly workdays will resume on Saturday, September 18, at the Brink Center.
Janet Schroeder demonstrated the August block-of-the-month which is “Annie’s Choice”. She also showed a quilt top in the double 4-patch pattern using pastel pink and lavender colors.
Sandy Johnson was the door prize winner and showed a wall hanging featuring a moose in the woods.
Guild members were eager to look through a number of new quilting books brought by Sandy Haman.
Aldyne Fuller’s latest creation was a log cabin heart design sewn as a pillow sham.
The next meeting will be Monday, August 2, 6:30 pm at the Brink Center. Audrey Olson will show how to sew the “Lone Star” block.
