Legion Chat: Oktoberfest a great sucess!

We have just finished Oktoberfest. Not knowing what to expect, it turned out to be a success. Many words of praise for our volunteers. Deb and I figured over 13 people cooked, cleaned, prepared the food and served. A special acknowledgement to Shirlee-Jo for working on the polkas and organizing Karoke. This was a learning process and now we have a clue for next year.
There was over a hundred people in attendance. We will tally the proceeds after expenses and present the Rainy River House with a cheque.
We are preparing for Remembrance Day, the executive is thinking of not having a banquet this year. We would like to know how the public feels with this situation. On that note the next General meeting is on October 26th at 7 p.m. The attendance draw is up to $420.00. This is the members opportunity to access the Legion's welfare.
