William Lorne Stang, 84

William Stang (Billy), passed away peacefully at the Rainy River Hospital on Thursday, October 27, 2011 with his family by his side.
He was born in North Branch, Ontario on October 30, 1928 to William and Mrytle Stang. Bill had many jobs including guiding at the lake, diamond drilling, and farming, but his main occupation was logging.
He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn, daughters Laurie (Alex), Susan (Don), Jan (Robert) and Lois (Rob), his 8 grandchildren Robin (Michelle) Anderson, Ryan (Alicia) Anderson, Melanie (Jeff) Kreger, Katie (Ashley) Prosak, Tara (Dale) Jerry, Jessica (Leo) Barahona, Patrick Brischke, Chelsea Horley and 11 great grandchildren, William, Caitlin, Meagan, Madison, Emily, Braydon, Morgan, Avery, Chase, Kylynn and Karsyn.
Bill is also survived by his brother Wilmer (Marjorie) Stang, sister Kay Neilson, brother in law Bradley Haw, and sister in laws Shirley Berg, Grace Stang and Elaine Wilson.
He was predeceased by his parents William and Myrtle, step father Cliff Berg, brothers George Stang and Dale Berg, sister Edith Haw and brothers in law, Art Neilson and Pud Wilson.
Bill will live on in the hearts and memories of his family and friends. They will forever remember the smile on his face and the twinkle in his eyes every time he greeted them. Heartfelt thanks to the doctors and caregivers at the Rainy River Hospital.
Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 11 a.m. from the Northridge Funeral Home, Emo, Ont, with Rev. Barbara Miller officiating. Reception to follow at the Stratton Millennium Hall.
Interment to take place in Pine Ridge Cemetery, North Branch, Ont. If desired memorial donations may be made to the Rainy River House, Box 524, Rainy River, Ont, P0W 1L0.
