Council held its regular monthly meeting Monday short one councillor.
Gord Armstrong was not present, but the balance of council and the mayor presided over a fairly light agenda.
Council passed a bylaw appointing Julie Tiboni as the Administrative beginning in December for a one year term.
The hiring was necessary to accommodate Lisa Mosher who will be taking maternity leave.
Council also passed a bylaw authorizing Mayor Deb Ewald and Administrative Assistant Mosher to sign an agreement with the Ontario Trillium Foundation on the Rainy River Public Library's behalf.
The library has received notification that it has been approved for $15,000 in grant monies to be used for new shelving, a circulation desk and other library equipment.
Council granted Mary O'Connor permission to use the Rainy River Clinic board room to teach a life skills class.
