Legion Chat: Kudos to many on Remembrance Day

By Walter Wagner
President

Today I want to express the Legion's gratitude to all who attended the Remembrance Day ceremonies.
It is gratifying to see that people are making an effort to remember our veterans and our honour roll.
In 2018 it will be 100 years since the end of W.W.I. To our youth it will seem as something that occurred in the distant ages of time. It is the Legion's mandate to supply memory to all our younger generations.
I would like to acknowledge the executive for their work preparing for Remembrance Day. A great thanks to the ladies who made the lunch, Deb, Barb, Evelyn and Ann. A very Special Praise to Comrade Cooper for his Flag Presentation and to Chaplain Gord for his prayers.
Kudos to the Choir, Jackie and Kitty for the music selection. A special praise to the Rec Board for the sound system. After a great meal, which was put on by the Rainy River House fund raising committee we presented a plaque to Irwin Johnston in honour of his 29 years service as Sec/Treasurer to our Legion.
We were privileged to have our MP John Rafferty and our MPP Sarah Campbell in attendance at the banquet.
