4–H News: Club has "active" meetings

Meeting #2
Kim called the meeting to order. Kim gave us a fish & piece of newspaper. We made the newspaper into a fan. Then we put our fish on the floor and used our fan to make the fish move. We did this in heats. Then we all said the pledge. Madison read aloud the roll call "have you ever gone ice-fishing before" If so what did you catch?" Then we all answered. Then the minutes were read. Aynsley adapted the minutes as read. Then Alanna seconded the minutes. Then the minutes were carried. Wanda then read aloud the rules about ice-fishing. Then we got dressed and went outside. We walked down to the river. Ted then helped us put our line in the river. Then we waited for the fish. While we waited we played some games. Then we came back to catch some fish. The meeting was adjourned at 5:30 p.m.
Meeting #3 at Stratton Senior Center
Madison called the meeting to order and welcomed Heidi Ivall to our meeting. Then we all stood and said the pledge. Then Madison asked the roll call "Name a game that is traditionally played outdoors. Morgan read the minutes. Alanna adapted them as read. Then Kurt seconded the minutes. Everyone was in favour, and they were carried.
Then we talked about meeting times and places. Heidi talked about being active. She told us all kids have to be active for at least 60 minutes and 30 minutes for adults a day. Kids can go for a walk with friends, walk to school, go for runs, go puddle hopping on a rainy day, play tag or freeze tag, roller blade, or skateboard, be active during recess.
Then Heidi got some weights out and we did some exercises with them. Then we had a healthy snack and cake. Next we went outside to have a big snowball fight, it was lots and lots of fun!! Our meeting was then adjourned at about 4 p.m.
Meeting #4 & Achievement at Schram's
Kim called the meeting to order. Then we all said the 4-H pledge. The roll call was asked "What makes a game fun?" We all then answered. Ben then read the minutes. Aynsley adapted the minutes as read. Kurt seconded them. Kim told us we would be judging Dominoes. Then everyone judged the Dominoes. After that we read why and how we judged the Dominoes. Then we got to play table games. (Jenga, Dominoes 7 Tri-Donimoes). We then had some snacks. Then the meeting part was adjourned at noon and Achievements started. For the Achievement part we went outside and ate hotdogs. Then we put snowshoes on and went snowshoeing through the bush. When we got back we had hot chocolate and smores. Then we played Hide & Seek in the yard. After that we went back into the bush and played Mantracker. The Achievement's ceremony was adjourned at 3 p.m.
