Allan Francis Munroe, 91

Allan Francis Munroe, age 91, of Baudette, MN passed away on January 7, 2012.
Allan was born to George and Grace (Holmes) Munroe on April 26, 1920 in Baudette, MN. He grew up in Baudette and graduated from high school before entering the Army during WWII. After his service and being honorably discharged from the Army he became an Orthotist and worked at the Madigan Army Hospital in Tacoma, Washington.
Allan married Cathryne R. Munroe in 1948 in Long Beach California, with whom he would have a daughter Jackilyn before their separation in 1973. Allan then married his current wife Melba G. Munroe in Tacoma, Washington; they lived together in Tacoma, WA, and Maidens, VA before retiring to Baudette, MN.
Allan was also a Master Mason and a member of Elks.
Allan is survived by his wife Melba; daughter, Jackilyn Munroe Earley of Elizebeth, CO; brother Bill Munroe of Bellflower, California; nieces, Sandy Cotton of Maui HI, Lisa Hartman of Bellflower, CA; nephews, Rick Munroe of Seattle, WA, David Munroe of Salt Lake City, UT.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Miles Munroe; sister, Shirley Cotton; and aunt, Daisy Hanson of Rainy River, Canada.
Allan will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Service for Allan F. Munroe of Baudette was held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the LakeWood Care Center in Baudette, MN with a lunch at the Brink's Center followed the service.
