Hosp. Aux. to stock locum house
By Irene Hanson
RR Hospital Auxiliary
Our regular meeting for February had 21 members present. A great turn out. We were happy to see you all.
We opened with all reading the auxiliary prayer, followed by Carolee reading the minutes of the last meeting.
Carolee also read the financial report as treasurer Dawn Jarvis was absent. Both approved as read.
At this point Tammy McNally popped in and asked the auxiliary if they could stock the locom house presently being used with a few basic items, such as coffee, tea, bread etc. It was decided we would. Suggested was a welcome Basket, and Myrna Armstrong will look after that.
The meeting continued with the special committee's giving their reports.
Bev Langner, our auxiliary representative on the Foundation Board gave her report. Bill Gushalak (Fort Frances) filled a vacancy on the board. She also stated the need for doctors in this area, 4 for Fort Frances, 2 for Emo, 2 for Rainy River as well as students and locums.
Gill Stamler our Riverside Board rep also reported on her meeting, but because most was behind closed doors she didn't have much to report at this point.
The tickets for our main draw for the Strawberry Social to be held on May 9th will be out shortly. The draw will be a lawn swing set.
Rylee Mowe is our Bursary winner and will be receiving $400.00. Congratulations Rylee.
We did cater the Valentines parties at the long term care at the hospital, and at the Station.
Our last item on the list was the birds. After a survey by the long term care committee, it was reported that 16 out of 20 wanted the birds kept. There are two new canaries in there now, and we will get 6 more males as soon as they are available. Carla will look after them, and hopefully help will come.
In closing it was also reported both bathtubs are now installed an working great. The patients are enjoying them.
The next meeting is March 6 at 1 o'clock at the hospital. See you then.
