Library Corner: A bumper crop of books arrive for Spring

By Michael Dawber
CEO/Librarian

Spring is here, and the Rainy River Public Library has a bumper crop of new books!
Gardeners will enjoy Gardening with Short Growing Seasons by Graham Saunders and The Guide to Canadian Vegetable Gardening by Douglas Green.
We also have Bird-by-Bird Gardening by Sally Roth and the latest issues of Birds and Blooms magazine.
Thanks to a generous donation, we now have a current subscription to Better Farmer magazine, too.
Novice farmers should check out Barnyard in Your Backyard by Gail Damerow.
For your budding gardener, try Water, Weed and Wait by Edith Hope Fine or Garbage Helps our Garden Grow by Linda Glaser.
When the seeds are planted and it’s time to put your feet up, check out the library’s latest bestsellers.
New arrivals include Betrayal by Danielle Steel, Loving by Karen
Kingsbury, Lone Wolf by Jodi Picoult, and Salvage the Bones by Jermyn Ward.
We’ve also added many new DVDs recently.
We can offer you The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Lincoln Lawyer, War Horse, R.E.D., and seasons nine and 10 of the British spy series MI-5.
We have outstanding new documentaries, like Madagascar, Wild Pacific and Birds of the Gods.
And kids will enjoy the wealth of titles in our Playaway View collection.
All our new arrivals are listed at our website, www.rainyriverlibrary.com.
We look forward to seeing you again soon!
