With family and sister Shirley by her side, Edna Ruth Brown, 82, of Riverview Manor, Rainy River, ON passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the Rainy River Hospital in Rainy River, ON.
Edna was born on August 7, 1929 in Nelles Township to the late Antoine and Florrie Lauzon. She had 13 siblings.
She was united in marriage on May 19, 1948 to Henry A. Brown. Together they raised seven sons. She had worked as a cook for a few summers at various tourist camps and for one summer on the Ark. She is survived by their children Gary (Judy) Brown of Nestor Falls, Benjamin (Cathy) Brown of Pinewood, Nelson (Alvina) Brown of Stratton, Edward (Corey) Brown of Rainy River, Vernon Brown and companion Janice Kenty of Rainy River, Bradley (Patti) Brown of Stratton, and David (Debbie) Brown of Stratton. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Rissanen and Shirley Armstrong; sisters-in-law Michele Lauzon, Yvette Lauzon and Peggy (Phil) Bellamy; bothers-in-law Robert Brown and Lawrence (Maxine) Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Edna was predeceased by her parents Antoine and Florrie, her husband Henry, her sisters, Ruby Gaudry (Amy), Florrie Rahn (Jack), Claira Lundstrom (Axel); Violet Schram (Sid); brothers, Ben Morrison (Violet), Gordon Morrison (Minnie), Jim Morrison, Bill Morrison (Lily), Charlie Lauzon (Bessie), twin brothers Albert Lauzon and Philip Lauzon, one daughter-in-law Lena Brown (Vernon), brother in laws Sylvester Armstrong and Harold Rissanen and numerous extend family.
Visitation was held Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, ON, where funeral services was held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Peggy Mason officiating. Interment will be held at the Stratton Cemetery with luncheon following at the Stratton Millennium Hall.
