Legion Chat: Decoration Day reminds us of what the Legion's purpose is

Decoration Day - Every so often some event or occurrence takes place, that reminds you of the true purpose of the Legion. That even for me was Decoration Day.
It took place in Fort Frances at the cemetery cenotaph. It was gratifying to be a part of the Blue and Grey. We laid wreaths in honour of all veterans.

There were representatives from as far away as Hudson, Ontario. Every Veteran's grave was marked with a Canadian Flag. It reminded me that we are here to carry on the memory of those, that fought and died for our freedom and life style that we enjoy today.

On another note, wish Gerry Marchuk a safe and happy journey when you see him. Gerry is representing us at the National Convention in Halifax. We are proud and grateful of Gerry doing this.
Until next time have a good week.
