With sadness, the family announces her passing at the Rainy River Health Centre on May 30, 2012. Mildred was born on December 16, 1914 in Gypsumville, Manitoba to the late Joseph and Lena Jaworski. In June 1933 she joined her sister Stella in Bergland, Ontario where she met Norman Martinson and they were united in marriage in October of that year. Their two daughters were born while they lived there and in 1951, the family moved their home to Atwood Township, east of Rainy River, Ontario.
Mildred worked as a cook and spent ten years at Dalseg’s Camp at Nestor Falls, fourteen seasons at a private camp on Big Island, Lake of the Woods and 20 years at the C.N. Hotel in Rainy River.
