Meryl (Ivall) Evans, 99

MERYLE IDA (IVALL) EVANS

Born in Rainy River Ontario, she died peacefully at her home in North York, Toronto on Friday, June 1st, 2012 after a brief illness.

Our beloved sister, aunt and friend Meryle Ida (nee Ivall) Evans was in her 100th year. Meryle enjoyed a very full life.

She loved to entertain, was an amazing cook and baker. She was a very creative person putting her hand to many things that we could only aspire to. She was an avid swimmer until the age of 97.

She loved to travel and visited the many corners of the world. She was part of a great family of storytellers who brought to life many adventures that we will have the pleasure of passing on to our children. She loved to laugh and had a strong passion for life.

Meryle was the third of nine children, the daughter of the late Joseph Ivall and our beloved Ann (Kolesar) Ivall and was predeceased by Sisters Irene and Marion and Brothers Albert, James, Edward, Joseph, and Arthur.

She will be missed by Brother Leslie, many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends throughout Canada and around the world. Special thanks to all those who helped with her care in an effort to keep her wishes alive in her final days especially the team from St. Elizabeth, Revera Home Care, and the Temmy Latner Palliative Unit at Mt Sinai. Family and friends will be received at the HIGHLAND FUNERAL HOME 3280 Sheppard Ave. E. (West of Warden Ave.) 416-773-0933 on Friday, June 8, 2012 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. with a service to follow in the chapel at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Temmy Latner Center for Palliative Care at Mt Sinai, the Rainy River Hospital or a charity of your choice.
