Disappointed with your coverage

Dear Editor,
First of all I'd like to applaud Rainy River for a job well done. It was great to go home and visit with people I haven't seen in years. The volunteers did a great job but I was really disappointed when the musicians who volunteered their time were mentioned and for the second time in as many years, again, there was NO mention of The Whalen's. These men did a fantastic job in the memory of their father, Minard Whalen, and I know for a fact, a lot of people made a special trip to Rainy River just to hear them. You may also note that they received a standing ovation and asked to play an encore.
The picture in the paper of all The Uther Wunz was great but what happened to the other member of the band that was on stage.
Just a little history on The Uther Wunz: Lorne Whalen and Lennie Grant were also part of the ORIGINAL band which was formed while they were in High School. As they were under age, Minard had to co-sign for them to buy their equipment. They also had to use his vehicle to travel to wherever it was they played. The name The Uther Wunz also came from Minard because people would phone his place to book the band and he would say "oh you want the other ones".
In closing I would just like to say, I am proud to be a wife and sister-in-law to Lorne, Lance and Dennis who did a fantastic job and thank you to Gerry Jolicouer for standing in with them. Minard would have been proud.
