Samuel Vogan, 87
Samuel Vogan passed away peacefully on August 24, 2004 at Oak Bay Lodge, Victoria, British Columbia. Sam was born on June 20, 1917 in Armagh, Northern Ireland.
Sam grew up in Ireland and farmed there as a young man.
In Ireland he played the bag pipes with the local pipe band. He met his wife Kathleen when she returned to Ireland for a visit. He immigrated to Canada in 1958 and married his wife Kathleen. They settled in Rainy River, Ontario where they worked together and raised their family on their dairy farm.
Sam was a quiet, hard working man who enjoyed helping his family and friends. In 1990 Sam retired with his wife Kathleen to Campbell River, British Columbia. In Campbell River, Sam spent his retirement working in his beautiful flower and vegetable garden and enjoyed many days salmon fishing. In 1999 Sam and Kathleen moved to Victoria, BC.
Sam was predeceased by his wife Kathleen in April 2003, and is lovingly remembered by his daughter Primrose (Frank) Carson of Victoria, BC, sons Sam of Dryden, Ontario, and Ken (Vel) Vogan of Rainy River, Ontario, grandchildren Rochelle, Lindsey, Melissa, Meghan, Patrick and Nicholas, sister Hannah, and numerous nieces and nephews.
