Cross country team finishes third at first meet of the season

The Lake of the Woods/Rainy River Cross Country team began its season last week at a meet in Roseau.
Coach Sariina Kalli said, “What a great way to start the season! All the runners performed well on the soggy mosquito-laden course.”
The boys varsity team promises to be a competitive threat in the section this year, placing third in Roseau.
Dylan Davis and Tyler Ketchum placed 7th and 8th respectively with times of 18:46 and 19:05.
Jay Nielson of Stratton came in 12th with a time of 19:39.
Other boys in the 5,000 m varsity race for LoW/RR placed as follows:

The boys varsity team accumulated 67 points to finish third.

The team was in Warroad yesterday and is off to Bagley Sept. 21st.
