Jr. Girls basketball dominates Whitefish Bay at home

The Rainy River High School Owls have started their fall basketball (girls) and volleyball (boys) seasons.
Last Thursday they hosted Whitefish Bay at home after returning from a two day road trip the week before.
On Thursday the Junior Girls Owls did not disappoint the home town fans as they defeated WFB convincingly 41-25.
The Jr. Boys Owls also put on a good show winning three games straight. The scores were 25-11, 25-6 and 25-13.
The Sr. Boys lost three straight but all matches were close. The scores were 20-25, 22-25, 24-26.
On Sept. 14th the teams were in Red Lake to take on the Rams.
The Jr. Boys lost in five matches. The scores were 24-26, 26-28, 25-14, 25-11 and 14-16.
The Jr. Girls lost 46-4.
On Sept. 15th the teams were in Kenora to take on St. Thomas Aquinas Saints.
The Jr. Boys won three straight with scores of 25-18, 25-20 and 25-18.
The Sr. boys lost three straight, 25-9, 25-14 and 25-22.
In basketball action the Sr. girls lost 41-4 and the Jr. Girls lost 56-6.
There were home games this past Monday with the Saints visiting. Results were not ready at press time.
On October 5th the teams travel to Sioux Lookout, Pelican Falls and Ignace.
