Fredrick Joseph Morrison, 67
After a sudden illness, Fredrick Joseph Morrison, 67, of Rainy River, Ontario passed away on July 11, 2012 surrounded by family. Fred, the eldest son of Donald Sr. and Bessie Morrison, was born March 13, 1945 at the Rainy River Hospital. Fred attended Mokahum Bible School in Cass Lake, Minnesota from 1961-1963. Upon returning to the Morson area, he married Mary Baer in 1967. He lived in Winnipeg for many years but always returned to the area he called home. He loved to spend time on Lake of Woods fishing or boating. As a lifelong learner, he was an avid reader and always wanted to learn more about the scriptures.
He leaves behind his children: Charles Wesley (Sharon) Morrison, Cindy Lou (Mark) Petkau and Candy Maria Morrison. Also his grandchildren: Jonathan, Joshua and Rachel Petkau; Allison and Ashley Morrison; Lucas King and Talia Morrison and 2 great-grandchildren; Austin and Annika.
Survived by his siblings: Elizabeth (Wally Sr.) Detweiler, Reggie (Louise) Morrison, Donna (Terry) Prince, Robert Morrison, Karol (Dale) Lufgren, Barbara (Ashton) Reardon, Joyce (Glenn) Smith, Timothy (Melvina) Morrison along with 27 neices and nephews and a host of cousins.
Freddy was pre-deceased by his parents Donald Morrison (1987), Bessie (Tom) Morrison (2008) and his brother, Donald Morrison Jr. (2007).
Visitation/wake took place at the Big Grassy Hall on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 7pm. Funeral service was at Big Grassy Hall, Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 10:30 am. Pastor Gord Armstrong officiating. Interment in Bergland Cemetery.
Pall Bearers will be Charles Morrison, Jonathan Petkau, Joshua Petkau, Lucas King, Justin Morrison, Buck Morrison.
Honourary Pall Bearers will be Reggie Morrison, Robert Morrison, Tim Morrison, Leonard Morrison, Robert Handorgan and Roy Tom.
