Jackie Mason, 73

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of their wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Jackie Mason, of Rainy River, Ontario passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at the Rainy River hospital. She was born on December 8, 1930 in Rainy River, Ontario to the late Clifford and Stella Neddo nee Laverdure.
Jackie received her education in Atwood Township, Rainy River and Thunder Bay. She moved to Winnipeg where she worked for a short time. It was there that she met and married her husband Ken Mason on September 16, 1948. Ken’s work with Canadian National took them across Canada and as far away as Zambia, Africa.. In 1983 they retired in Fort Frances and in 1991 they moved back to Rainy River where they lived in a log home on the river within a mile of Jackie’s birthplace.
Jackie will be sadly missed by her husband Ken of 56 years and their children Karen (Emery) Ruff of Rainy River, Sandra (Larry) Woodfin of Ponoka, Alberta, Cindy (Peter) Vaartnou of Victoria, BC and Joy Mason of Lantzville, BC. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren Amy, Robin, Johnathan, Jeremy, Joel, Jamie and Nicholas and hers sisters children Beverly and William Albright.
She was predeceased by her parents Clifford and Stella Neddo, her brother Edward (Sonny) Neddo and her sister Doreen Albright.
A celebration of Jackie’s life was held on Friday September 24, 2004 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church in Rainy River. Father Dan Debano officiated followed by interment in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Rainy River.
