Velma Margaret (Venables) Nordberg, 77

Velma Nordberg passed away peacefully with her family at her side.
Velma was born on March 1, 1927 in Sleeman, Ontario to the late Lois (Armstrong) and William Venables. Velma grew up in Rainy River where she resided until her passing.
Velma enjoyed sewing, ceramics, gardening, playing cards, telling a good joke, playing piano and spending time with family.
Velma was united in marriage to Carl Nordberg April 26, 1944, who predeceased her in 1992. She was also predeceased by her infant daughter Joanne; brothers Bill and Donnie Venables; sisters Jean Gregg and Patsy Smith; sister-in-law Patsy Lou Venables and brother--in-law Pete Gregg.
She will be sadly missed by her children Rennie (Veronica) Nordberg, Gloria (Pete) Kohalmi, Brenda Hanson (Larry), Brad (Stephanie) Nordberg; grandchildren Shona (Cory), Julie (Peter), Heidi (Nick), Monica (Jeff), Brendan, Sharleen, Kristopher, Kevin, Kendra and Klayton; great-grandchildren Christian and Joseph.
Siblings Milton (Dorothy) and Shirley (Bill) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation and a private grave side ceremony has taken place. In memoriam donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
