James (Jimmy) Olson

James (Jimmy) Olson, of Sleeman, Ontario passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 18, 2004 at Morson, Ontario.
Jimmy was born on February 21, 1972 in Fort Frances, Ontario to Ralph and Adrienne Olson. Throughout the years, Jimmy attended school in Morson, Bergland (McCrosson Tovell) and later high school in Rainy River. As a young man Jimmy began working as a logger with his dad, where he worked for 13 years. He was presently employed with McCool’s from Fort Frances, also as a logger. Jimmy had a great love for the outdoors. He spent most of his free time fishing and hunting with the boys. He also enjoyed trips to WeFest as well as trips to Winnipeg to attend Bomber games and concerts with Lisa and the guys. He was a generous, easy going, light hearted, fun loving guy. He was a great son, brother, uncle and friend and he will be sadly missed but never forgotten by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Paul Cote, and paternal grandparents Art and Thelma Olson
Jimmy is survived by his parents Ralph and Adrienne Olson of Bergland, ON; one brother Billy Olson and wife Darcy of Baker Lake, Nunavut, one sister Cindy Olson of Winnipeg, MB and his girlfriend Lisa Bolen of Winnipeg, MB, two nephews Hunter Olson of Baker lake, Nunavut and Cody Daoust of Winnipeg, MB maternal grandmother Matilda Cote of Dryden, On; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
Memorial services were held on Friday, October 1, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Bergland Hall in Bergland, Ontario. Pastor Pat White officiated with interment in Bergland Cemetery in Bergland, Ontario.
Active pall bearers were Kelly Olson, Jamie Lundgren, Mark Pentney, Robert Tolen, Troy Brown, Mike Gate, Darren Daoust, and Allan Loveday.
Honourary pallbearers were Alfred Gate, Larry Bernst, Rick Westberg, Terry Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Johnny Anderson, Rennie Nordberg. Denis Duhamel, Artie Blight, Scott Olson, Clayton Strom, Michael Cote, Len Clarke, Aaron Armstong, Ken Tetu, Jim Sandelovich, Karl Howells and Pat Cross.
Should family and friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the Rainy River Hospital in Rainy River, Ontario POW 1L0.
