Perogies sold well during centennial
Evelyn Bourre
On September 8, 2004 the ladies Auxiliary Br. #54 held their first meeting after the summer break with 15 members present.
Donna Ivall and Marion Lachance along with Terry Cooper and Janet Schaaf attended the labour Day Parade in Atikokan to carry the colurs.
The auxiliary did very well with their sale of perogies and smokies during centennial days and also on their raffle of the swing and canopy set. Lorraine Thompson was the lucky winner.
The cribbage and meat draws are coming along well.
Verna Barsy and Eunice Rusnak attended the scholarship meeting in Dryden. They report that a female student from Emo had won.
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, Oct 12, 2004 instead of Wednesday and we’ll be having a pot luck supper. Our district rep. Bonnie Foulds from Kenora will be attending so ladies plase try to attend. A good turn out would be very nice.
On Oct. 2/04 the branch is hosting the Jim Burnett/Dave Woodbury dart and cribbage tournament. It is open to all paid up members of the branch and auxiliary. Good luck to all who attend. Lunch will be served after the games are completed.
The attendance draw at our meeting was won by Marion Lachance
