Kids club has read over 190 books at RR Library this summer

By Michael Dawber
Librarian/CEO

The TD Summer Reading Club for Kids is off to a flying start at the Rainy River Public Library.
Almost 30 children have joined our club this year.
And with our reading contest only two weeks old, our keen readers have already logged more than 190 books. Amazing!
Our readers win a prize for every book read.
There’s a bonus prize each time a reader writes a book report or makesa picture about the story.
Our program leader, Shauna, will have fantastic stories, crafts and games every Friday at 11 a.m. until August 17.
So far, our club members have voted Bigbeard’s Hook by Evan Solomon and There’s a Dragon in My Closet by John F. Green as their storytime favorites.
Caregivers and children up to age 12 can join our club for free.
A parent or caregiver must accompany children during our program.
At the end of the summer, our top two readers will each win a specialgrand prize.
We’ll also have a prize for the reader making the most creative reports and pictures.
The big prizes will be handed out at our last club time on August 17.
There’s still time to join the TD Summer Reading Club. Email the
library at libraryrr@gmail.com or phone 807.852.3375 to sign up.
