Forest Women’s Institute starts scholarship

On November ninth Forest women’s Institute met at the home of Eileen Shannon. There were twelve members, one new member, and one guest present. Peggy Livingstone called the meeting to order. Carol Clifford read the Mary Stewart Collect. Roll Call was One minute of silence in memory of veterans and departed members. We then recited thin Flanders Fields. Eleanor Wiersema read the minutes of the previous meeting and gave the financial report. Peggy Livingstone moved the minutes and financial report be approved as read. All members approved the minutes and the financial report. Rachel Marquis made a motion to put money in a scholarship fund. This motion was second by Nancy Hanson and approved by everyone. Eleanor Wiersema gave us a bill for mileage for attending an Emo Museum board meeting. Carol Clifford made a motion to pay the bill’ Rose Hanson second the motion. The bill is to be paid. Two members paid a fine for not wearing their pins. We will make a donation to the penny table at the Hospital Auxiliary Christmas Bazaar. One visit was made to a sick member. All tickets for the Emo Museum Quilt Raffle were turned in.
Our Christmas supper will be at the Gasthaus on December fourteenth at six p.m. Everyone attending is to bring a gift for the gift exchange worth approximately ten dollars. We then had a lengthy discussion about the quilt design. We decided that three people should get together on
November thirtieth at Peggy’s to pick the pattern and the colours. Carol Clifford moved the meeting be adjourned. A delicious lunch was served by Eileen.
