Hospital Aux. resumes activities after summer break
By Irene Hanson
RR Hosp. Aux.
After a two month summer break, eighteen members came to our regular September meeting. It was nice to see you all back.
As usual we opened with all reading the auxiliary prayer, followed by Carolee Hogue reading the minutes of the last meeting. It was approved as read.
The financial statement was given and approved. Our Strawberry Social was very successful. The committees gave their reports and there were no changes over the summer.
Bev Langner gave her Foundation report. Re: the digital Mammography Machine fund raising; our auxiliary has already given $15,000, and some of our members are on the fund raising committee and will partake in the Bike kick off on September 11, after the pancake breakfast from the tent at the hospital. There will be pledge cards available there, or you can get them by contacting either Bev Langner or Brigette McGreevy.
The Foundation's fall event at Fort Frances, an "Evening in Paris," will take place at the Sportsplex on October 13th in the evening.
Correspondence was two "Thank You" cards for donations given towards the mammography machine.
Old Business: we have purchased our computer to be used by the auxiliary, but to date has not been full set up.
New Business: The tickets for the 50/50 draw to be drawn at our X-mas Bazaar will be December 2. They will be from members or at local establishments. This concluded our meeting, the next one is at the hospital and is on October 2 at 1 o'clock. See you there.
P.S. The winner of our $1000 bursary was Kathryn Clifford, and will be given to her at the time of her entry into the second semester. Congratulations Kathryn.
