John Gavel brings home first place from Dauphin sled races

Racing season is well underway for the John Gavel family of Stratton.
Just this past weekend they travelled to Dauphin, Manitoba where they competed in several classes of snowmobile racing.
John Gavel, the oldest member of the Gavel racing team competed in and came first in the Masters Class. He also came in 2nd in the 30+ and 30+ open races.
John’s sons Rob and Dan also competed. Rob finished 4th in the Semi-pro Open and 600 classes. He also came in 7th in the Semi-pro 440 class.
Dan came in 2nd in the Semi-pro 600 and 6th in the Semi-pro 440 class.
This family eats, sleeps and breaths snowmobile racing and is competing many weekends this winter. They are primarily competing in the North West Racing Association (NRWA) circuit and will also race in the MN North and WSA Nationals.
Their next NWRA races are Feb. 5-6 in Brandon, Manitoba.
