Planning a Halloween Party!
By Irene Hanson
RR Hosp. Aux.
With eleven members present we opened our meeting reading the auxiliary prayer. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The Treasurer was absent so no financial statement was given.
We carried on with reports from the special committees; Sick & Visiting - no one so far, Ways and Means looked after, no new members; Tuck shop - pop machine and candy machine doing well, however the tuck shop is slow. Come and see what we have. Penny tables and Christmas coming up.
We will have a Halloween Party for the long term residents on October 31 at the hospital, and Pat Acree and Betty Blight will look after the refreshments, along with help from Audree and Darlene. It will be at 1:30 wear a Costume.
We were asked to cook two turkeys for the Locum housing fund raiser supper to be held at the Evangelical Church on October 21 at 6 p.m. Joyce Penner and Gill Stamler will take care of this.
The tickets for our 50/50 draw for the Christmas Bazaar are out, and anyone wishing to sell can get them from Myrna Armstrong.
There will be an appreciation Luncheon for all former and present members at the Legion on December 4th at 12:30. This is open to all past and present members, at no cost to us. The Foundation Board is sponsoring it, covering all costs. Please accept this as your invitation and let either Irene (85203270) or Gill Stamer (852-3853) know if you are coming. They would like a number of how many attending by November 24.
Our next meeting is November 6 at 1 o'clock at the hospital.
