AgriStability Interim
Advance Program
If you are in financial distress, you can apply to receive an advance on your estimated AgriStability payment before you complete your fiscal year using an Interim Payment Application.
To apply, you must:
·Be in the second half of your fiscal year
·Agree to meet all requirements for AgriStability, including submitting your application and tax forms after your year-end
When Agricorp receives your Interim Payment Application, they will estimate your final AgriStability payment. Your interim payment is half of your estimated payment.
After you complete your fiscal year and submit your application and schedules and tax information, Agricorp will calculate your final payment and send you the difference. If your interim payment was larger than your final AgriStability payment, you will have to repay the difference.
Agri-Extension Education Survey – Win an IPad!
The ABeCampus is an online resource for farm business management information offering self-paced courses in Strategic Business Planning, Marketing, Human Resources, Succession Planning, and more.
The survey is geared towards collecting information on the learning and online education preferences of those working in agriculture. This feedback will be used to provide better suited extension education products to farmers and producers. Finally, input will be collected to evaluate how the ABeCampus meets the needs of those in the agriculture industry. Participants are asked to watch a short YouTube video touring the ABeCampus, followed by completing the online survey. Have a Farm or Farmland
for Sale?
Over the past few months I have been receiving an increasing number of inquiries from producers in Southern Ontario looking to purchase farm property in the Rainy River District. Some have been interested in establishing/moving beef operations and some in cropping operations.
A few of those interested purchasers have already made trips to the district to investigate properties.
I have a short list of properties that I know are available. In order for me to have an up to date list to provide to potential purchasers, if you have a farm or farmland that might be for sale, please contact me at 482-1921 or by email at gary.sliworsky@ontario.ca
