Frederick James Brett, 77

Tis’ a sad day for the Brett Clan for lost is the family’s patriarch.

Frederick James Brett, age 77, passed away unexpectedly in the arms of his family on October 18th, 2012 in Calgary, Alberta. His death will leave a large void in the hearts of his loved ones and many who knew him.

Born May 12, 1935 in Lincoln Park, Wayne County, Michigan, Fred leaves behind his loved ones: wife, Ruth Brett (nee Pentney) of Cochrane, Alberta, sons Mike (wife Louise), Jeffery (wife Wanda), Rodger (wife Mirjam) of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta and daughters Amanda and Jocelyn (husband Blaine McIntyre) of Cochrane, Alberta. Also grandchildren of twelve: Shawn, Matthew, Lisa (husband Matt Sinfield), Nathan, Theresa, Jacob, Broden, Logan, Nicholas, Katie (husband Rory Stewart), Robin and Hannah.

Fred is predeceased by parents Percy Kinnard Brett and Hilda Amanda Skog, sister Mary and husband Norman Elsden; Sister Viola and husband Bill McKie; brother Charles Brett and wife Margaret, brother in-law Dale Rader, in-laws Ernie and Katie Pentney, sisters in-law Carole (nee Pentney) and husband Sam Berman, Mary (Leland) Pentney, brother in-laws Buddy, Donnie, Kenny Pentney. Surviving are his sisters Helen (Bill) Carte, Beattie Foster, Carmilla Hodgson, Grace Rader, brother in-law Leland Pentney, sisters in-law Karen (Tony) Sepers, Terrill, Laurie, Jennette Pentney and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral for Frederick James Brett will be held at the Bergland Community Hall in Bergland, Ontario, at 1 pm on Saturday, November 3rd, 2012 with Lay Pastor Carolyn Kreger Officiating. Interment will take place in Morson Cemetery.
