Dear Editor,
Over the past couple years, much talk has taken place that the Evangelical Covenant Church in Rainy River is planning to construct a new facility. Yes, we are excited in that we are endeavoring to build a much larger handicap accessible structure.
We have purchased the land known as the “Old Beyak Property” situated between Highway 11 and Broadway, also known as the Old Highway. We are at present fundraising in many ways in order to proceed with construction in the not too distant future.
Our purposes are many, with the details as follows:
1) Our services and Sunday School have been at full capacity thereby constricting further physical growth.
2) Unlike our present building our new structure would be completely handicap accessible.
3) Our new church would facilitate holding larger gatherings ie. weddings, funerals, special events.
4) With this larger facility we will be able to entice better programs such as musicals, plays, etc.
5) A safer environment for our children as or parking lot is limited and congested.
6) We would have a wonderful stage area for our Youth programs as well as a Teen Room as our teens are presently meeting outside of our church.
7) Our present sound system is lacking for our talented musical people.
8) We would have a larger Fellowship Area in order to visit following church, as presently we are constricted.
As this project progresses we encourage everyone to share their talents (hands on, knowledge, material, etc) and participate in the construction of this new facility in town.
Presently we are in - “The Fundraising Stage” and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank the public for coming out to our events and supporting this worthwhile project. We cannot accomplish this task alone. If you would like to help financially with this community friendly building, your assistance would be greatly appreciated. All monetary gifts over ($10.00) will receive an income tax receipt with our grateful appreciation
