Mr. Mark Ivan Anness, age 69 years, passed away peacefully in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 with family by his side.
Mark was born on December 13, 1942 in Fort Frances and lived his entire life in Northwestern Ontario. Mark was employed as a mining engineer and surveyor at various mines in the area during his working years and had a lifelong enjoyment of fishing, hunting and all other areas of outdoor recreation with his family. Mark was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and served his community as President and longtime member of the Ear Falls Lions Club.
Mark is survived by his wife of 22 years, Margaret, children Donna (David), Laura (Jeff) and Neil (Coralyn), four step-daughters Susan, Brenda (Larry), Sandra and Tammy (Alain), fifteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, sister Karen, sister-in-law Evelyn and numerous nieces and nephews. Mark is predeceased by his mother Eileen, father Ivan and brother Wayne. He will be greatly missed and always remembered.
A memorial gathering was held for the late Mr. Mark Anness at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the Silver Tops Senior Centre, 300 Pine Street, Ignace, Ontario.
Should friends so desire, donations in lieu of flowers may be made in memory of Mark to the Northern Cancer Centre, Tamarack House, Thunder Bay, ON.
