Chamber Chat: Annual meeting is Saturday

On November 15 1932 the Rainy River & District Board of Trade held its first Annual Meeting in the Rainy River Council Chambers which is now the Masonic Temple. To mark this anniversary the Rainy River & District Chamber of Commerce is planning a Christmas party, 80 years and two days after the first meeting was held. There will be guest Speakers from Rainy River Resources and Sarah Campbell will be there. We also would like to have a Volunteer of the year award to show our appreciation and respect to a deserving individual. We have so many in our Community it will be hard to find only one who is deserving of this great honor. We will be accepting nominations for this award as well as for past years from 2003 and up. If you know of anyone who is deserving of this award please email me at rrdcoc@gmail.com or drop off your nomination along with your reasons for it at the Legion. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Locum house project so come out and have some fun while supporting a great community event. Tickets are $25 each or a reserved table of five for $100 at the Legion, the Post office, from Melanie Murray and me.
