Many young scientists win at local fairs
Ken Johnston
There were scientists everywhere last week. Kids at both Riverview School (Rainy River) and McCrosson-Tovell (Bergland) held their annual science fairs.
At Riverview the gymnasium as well as the library and lunchroom were all filled to capacity with projects from students in grades 4-8.
There were many interesting projects ranging from testing the flexibility of hockey sticks by Matt Godin to testing cereal for iron by Kailee Jodoin.
At McCrosson projects lined the main hallway and into a classroom. They to had a wide range of interesting things to show the public ranging from measuring the amount of light filtered through the lenses of sunglasses by Courtney Hansen to measuring heat from light bulbs by Danny Anderson.
